About Your Course

The lure of deeper and richer adventures entice you. You want to dive the deep wrecks. You want to reach the inner boundaries of the wrecks you are diving. You need more. More training. Bigger dives. This is your time to take your wreck diving to the next level. Become an Advanced Wreck Diver.

In your Academy of Scuba Advanced Wreck Diver Course, we will discuss and use equipment and techniques commonly employed while advanced wreck diving. This course provides training and experience to competently conduct advanced recreational wreck dives. This program includes penetration skills and techniques. The objective of this course is to train divers in the proper techniques, equipment requirements, and hazards of full penetration wreck diving.

In your Academy of Scuba Advanced Wreck Diver Course, you will complete a minimum of 8 wreck dives in world famous Wreck Alley.

  • Penetration Lines and Reels (Advanced Penetration)
  • Dive Planning and Pre-Dive Procedures
  • Navigating Inside Wrecks
  • Hazards, Dangers, and Risks with Limited Penetration Wreck Diving
  • Emergency Procedures for Wreck Diving
  • Search and Recovery Procedures for Lost Divers
  • Logging Penetration Wreck Dives

Anticipated Course Schedule

Day 1 8am - 12pm Classroom at Marina Village Conference Center
Day 1 1pm - 6pm 2 Dives in Wreck Alley
Day 2 8am - 1pm 2 Dives in Wreck Alley
Day 2 1pm Classroom at Marina Village Conference Center
Day 3 8am - 1pm 2 Dives in Wreck Alley
Day 3 1pm Classroom at Marina Village Conference Center
Day 4 8am - 1pm 2 Dives in Wreck Alley

Prerequisites

Minimum age 18
Intermediate Wreck Diver Certification or Equivalent
Advanced Nitrox Certification or Equivalent
Minimum of 70 total dives
Minimum of 10 Cold Water Dives (less than 60 degrees)
Minimum of at least 10 dives within the last six (6) months
Comfortable with Limited Visibility or Night Diving
Familiarity and experience with all equipment (no new equipment)

Student to Dive Professional Ratios

In water ratios shall not exceed 4 students to 1 dive professional during this course.
